Head of Real Estate Originations

A real estate investment, development, and debt fund firm headquartered in New York City is seeking a Head of Real Estate Originations. The firm manages over 150 entities and invests across multiple property types in the NYC metro area and Florida. This role is responsible for leading origination efforts, managing investor communications, and overseeing transaction execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of lending and investment opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with brokers, developers, sponsors, and financial institutions
- Lead negotiation of term sheets, loan agreements, and related legal documentation
- Partner with internal teams to evaluate creditworthiness, analyze risk, and ensure transactions meet investment criteria
- Present investment memorandums and recommendations to the investment committee
- Coordinate due diligence and underwriting processes to support transaction quality
- Analyze pricing trends, demand metrics, and market data to guide investment decisions
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies for new business initiatives
- Oversee investor communications including preparation of quarterly materials, investor presentations, and related documentation
- Serve as primary point of contact for investors and analysts, manage CRM systems, and coordinate meetings and conferences
- Monitor market activity, ownership changes, and competitor performance
- Mentor and manage analysts and associates
Qualifications
- 10 to 15+ years of experience in credit, private equity, or direct lending
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Real Estate; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred
- Advanced financial modeling skills and strong negotiation capabilities
- Experience structuring complex real estate transactions and understanding capital markets dynamics
- Experience managing communications between principals and investors
- Working knowledge of investment management software and Microsoft Office Professional
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a high-responsibility environment
