Financial Reporting Manager
New York, New York
A real estate investment, development, and management firm in New York City is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager. The firm is responsible for the acquisition and development of luxury high-rise condominium projects across New York and South Florida. This role oversees financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance for a portfolio of real estate investments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and delivery of internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls related to financial reporting
- Coordinate and manage external and internal audit processes
- Analyze financial results and prepare reports for senior management
- Lead group consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations and variance analysis
- Mentor and manage accounting and financial reporting staff
- Drive process improvements and reporting system enhancements
- Maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Work with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury teams to support financial planning and strategic decisions
Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and audit
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards
- Experience managing consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations
- Experience coordinating communications between principals, internal departments, and external auditors
- Proficiency with investment management systems and Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities
