Senior Property Accountant – Residential / CommercialA property management firm in New York is seeking an experienced Property Accountant with a background in residential and commercial real estate. The role supports accounting operations, financial reporting, and system implementation across a growing portfolio. Experience with Yardi Voyager is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close and prepare internal and external financial statements
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems and internal controls, including implementation of standard operating procedures
• Set up new properties within accounting systems
• Ensure timely vendor payments and maintain accounts payable processes
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual budget reports
• Coordinate year-end processes with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
• Work with senior leadership to support operational and financial initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience with a property management background
• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Experience with tax credit residential properties preferred
• Strong understanding of banking and financial processes
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
