Real Estate Debt Fund / Capital Markets Associate

Immediate opening for an experienced Real Estate Debt Fund / Capital Markets Associate in New York City. Our client is a $300 million private real estate debt fund seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented associate who can manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role provides exposure to a variety of real estate transactions across multiple property types in the NYC metro area and Florida.
Responsibilities
- Support loan origination by pricing transactions, structuring terms, and assisting in borrower negotiations
- Manage secondary market execution, including coordinating loan sales to note buyers and ensuring competitive pricing
- Oversee collateral management and delivery to support efficient loan sales and minimize settlement timelines
- Prepare credit analysis, financial models, and investment memorandums
- Communicate directly with investment committee members regarding underwriting and due diligence
- Research and analyze market data for investment opportunities
- Conduct market and site tours as part of underwriting and asset management processes
- Prepare and maintain weekly pipeline materials
- Present deal summaries and asset management updates during weekly investment team meetings
- Work with borrowers, brokers, consultants, and attorneys to close transactions
- Monitor draw requests on construction and development loans
- Monitor asset performance across a portfolio of seasoned loans
- Maintain and manage Excel models for portfolio positions and valuation metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience structuring real estate debt and structured finance transactions
- 3 to 10 years of relevant experience; multifamily and condominium construction lending experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong understanding of real estate markets, investment principles, and financial metrics
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
- Excellent organizational, written, and presentation skills
