Construction Project Accountant in Miami
Miami, Florida
A luxury property developer is seeking an experienced Construction Project Accountant in Miami, Florida. This role supports multiple development projects, including condominium and lease-up rental properties. The Construction Project Accountant is responsible for accounting, reporting, and draw management related to all development and construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Process, track, and coordinate monthly payments for construction managers and subcontractors across multiple ground-up development projects and existing multifamily properties
- Review, code, track, and post construction draws to the general ledger for multiple projects
- Prepare and compile monthly loan draw applications to lenders using AIA formats (G702/G703)
- Review and improve internal controls and financial reporting related to development and construction projects
- Maintain supporting documentation including requisitions, lien waivers, change orders, and payment records
- Coordinate with internal and external parties including accounting staff, asset managers, property managers, construction project managers, lenders, and vendors to resolve issues efficiently
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 to 5 years of recent construction project accounting experience
- Experience with real estate development or construction accounting preferred
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Experience with Timberline and AIA payment applications, including G702/G703 requisitions and lien waivers
- Experience with Yardi or other real estate accounting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
